Seniors may receive a transcript and participate in the graduation ceremony when a minimum of 21 credits have been completed and the following minimum standards have been met:
Students not considering college should cover the following courses:
  • Bible 4 credits
  • Grammar/Literature 4 credits (Emphasis on writing skills)
  • Mathematics 2 credits
  • Science 2 credits
  • History 2-3 credits (Full year each of U.S. and World History, one semester each of government and economics)
  • Foreign Language or Fine Arts 1 credit
  • Physical Education 2 credits
  • Driver’s Education (recommended but not required.  Course credit is not awarded)
  • Electives
  • Seek future job-interest-related work experience.
  • Investigate apprenticeships.
 
Students considering college should plan the following courses:
  • Bible 4 credits

  • Mathematics 2-3 credits (Algebra & Geometry required, Advanced math recommended)
  • History 3 credits (Full year each of U.S., World History, one year combined government and economics)
  • Science 2 credits (Biology & chemistry recommended)
  • Foreign Language 2 credits (Some colleges require 2 years of the same language)
  • Driver’s Education (recommended but not required.  Course credit is not awarded)
  • Physical Education 2 credits
  • Fine Arts 1 credit (Art, music, drama, dance, etc.)
  • Electives
 
Credits may be earned from purchased curriculum, completed college courses or vocational training. Credits may also be awarded for music and art lessons taken or consistent workouts.
 
One high school credit is equal to approximately 120-150 hours of work.
